MARGARET (“PEGGY”) A. BURTON is an associate of the firm with extensive experience in estate planning, probate and trust administration matters. She also has experience in professional liability, employment law, and civil litigation. Ms. Burton is a native Californian. She practiced law in the San Francisco Bay Area for sixteen years before relocating to Redding in 2014. She received her Juris Doctorate from Santa Clara University School of Law in 1997 where she was a Technical Editor of the Law Review, and a Moot Court finalist. Prior to attending law school, she worked as a paralegal for ten years in the areas of probate, civil litigation and corporate law after obtaining her Paralegal Certificate from Saint Mary’s College of California.

Ms. Burton assists clients in all aspects of estate planning, including the preparation of revocable trusts, wills, powers of attorney and health care directives. She enjoys working closely with her clients to identify each client's unique estate planning goals and challenges, and to create workable, cost effective plans to achieve those goals. She also represents clients in conservatorship and guardianship matters and assists families in the administration of estates, including advising Trusteesand Executors, to ensure the wishes of their decedents are properly carried out. 

Ms. Burton is a member of the California and Nevada State Bar Associations. She has been a member of the Washoe County and San Mateo County Bar Associations. She is currently a member of the Shasta-Trinity Counties Bar Association.
